In addition to the services we provide for Seniors and Adults here are some more services we provide for families with children.

Family Support Services

Our Family Support Program is a long term home visitation program designed to serve children ages 0-5 in Hardin County.  Our Program is built on family strengths and will be tailored to be an individual approach to family management and designed to empower families by educating, modeling, and linking the family to community resources.

To qualify for the Family Support Program families must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level

  • Have one or more children ages newborn through 5

  • Reside in Hardin County

Welcome Baby

The nursing staff at Greenbelt Home Care are proud sponsors of the Welcome Baby Program.  Welcome Baby is a FREE service to all new mothers in Hardin County.  This program was devised to help all new mothers with any questions they might have once they bring their baby home.  The Welcome Baby Program provides:

•Free in home visits from a Greenbelt Home Care Maternal Health Nurse
•Nurse will assess the health of the mother and baby
•Nurse will weigh your baby
•Information on programs that provide financial assistance, lead screenings, and immunizations
•Resources and referrals to other agencies and providers in the Hardin County area, and around the state of Iowa.

Pregnancy Testing

Pregnancy testing is offered to women of Hardin County in the Greenbelt Home Care office for a $10.00 fee.   If pregnancy is confirmed, by the test, information for assuring good prenatal care is available upon request.

Lead Program

If your child has elevated lead levels we admit them to our lead program and will then monitor it from there.


• Iowa officially became a TEXT4Baby partner in this national initiative that is endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control.
• Mothers receive three free text messages a week, timed to their due date or their baby’s birth date, through pregnancy and up until the baby’s first birthday.
• The messages address topics such as labor signs and symptoms, prenatal care, urgent alerts, developmental milestones, immunizations, nutrition, birth defect prevention, safe sleep, safety, and more.
